Once upon a time, a four-year-old boy named Marc constantly ran his head into things on his hands and knees. His Father was tired of it and nicknamed him, “Boomer”. It never stuck back then, since it was a derogatory remark. As an older man and bass player who got tired of hearing his last name pillaged on a mic, he decided to re-instate his Father’s nickname.

Boomer has always had music in his life. First jobs were in various record stores, then a 10 year stint at Columbia Records in the 70’s & 80’s as a record promoter. Marriage and those expectations led him astray for another 10 years doing the corporate business career at Circuit City as a manager trainer. Then he quit the corporate career to take care of a divorce and his dying Mother. He got back into playing music and found a perfect job at DBG.

Now life makes sense again > Music, Beach, Spirit!

Musical Influences: Boomer started playing guitar the day after seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. First great guitar was a 60’s red Gibson 355 Dot. That one got away. Having seen everybody at least twice, it’s all about those great live shows that have inspired him. Like McCartney, Springsteen, Beck, Rundgren and recently, The Derailers.

Desert Island CDs: Jeff Beck “Blow By Blow”, Todd Rundgren “Something Anything” and “Abbey Road”.

Favorite Movie:. He watched “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” in a private showing at the La Reina Theater in Studio City with George Harrison in 1978.

Favorite Book: “Conversations With God” series by Neal Donald Walsch.

Best Live Moment as a Player: Opened for Aerosmith in Underground Atlanta in the 70’s.

Most Embarrassing Live Moment: His infamous Mohawk at the LA NAMM Show in ‘04.

Favorite Instrument You Currently Own: His ‘69 Fender P Bass and his ’63 Fender Princeton Reverb

Favorite Instrument That Got Away: His ’53 Fender “No-Caster” Tele

Dream Instrument: King Doublebass Road King w/ FLAMES baby!
